SEASON FOUR PREMIERE!: Young creatives making their mark month: Kenya Juma - Spoken word artist & Freelance designer

School is BACK in session! The Cipher returns with a new season of interviews with Black creatives worldwide, who you should know, because they're creating the kind of content we're looking for!

On this episode, we’re going back to London to speak with Kenya Juma, a young student and creative entrepreneur who, at 17 (during the time of this conversation), already leads creative writing and empowerment seminars across Britain.

She’s also a spoken word artist whose work centers around black joy, resilience, and being a young black girl or woman in Britain. As if that wasn’t enough, she’s a three-times self-published author and podcast host who has appeared on prime-time TV shows in the UK.

In this episode, Kenya performs some of her poetry live - which moves Christabel to reflect on her own growing pains and how they have left their mark years later.

Get to know Kenya with Christabel Nsiah-Buadi on The Cipher today!
