AudioDiaspora Round-Up

A Word From Our Host

Christabel Nsiah-Buadi

Team! I’m in New York City, wrapping up my time as part of the Sulzberger Executive Leadership 2024 cohort. I was selected because program leaders see me as an editorial leader with the potential to change the media. After five intense months, I’m inspired and ready to do just that. Part of my vision is to coach creators across the Diaspora who want to thrive in this new creator economy. The other part is to amplify diaspora creators who should be on your radar. So, I’m excited to tell you that we’re introducing our bi-monthly round-ups,’  where I talk about creators putting their spin on some of the week's hottest topics.

This week, we’re launching our ‘AudioDiaspora Round-Ups.’ Every two weeks, we’ll deliver exclusive news from across the Diaspora, along with handpicked podcasts and shows that offer the most insightful analysis, intriguing background, and plenty of laughter!

Curious about Hulu’s new show, 'Black Twitter: A People's History'? We've got the inside scoop on this groundbreaking series that delves into the movement’s monumental influence on global pop culture - and the new challenges it's up against.

Then, we’ll highlight commentary from around the world about the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud and offer suggestions about the complex discussions around the use of Ozempic, who is using it, and its impact on the body image debates, especially as they relate to women of color in white-dominated spaces.

Visit our website to access ALL the links to the shows featured in this week’s episode.

And don’t forget to join us next week to hear Christabel’s conversation with Tamara Barton Campbell, founder of Renaissance Studios, a female-led production company that’s diversifying mainstream film and TV in the UK!
