S2:E5 - Chantal Miller Black Girls Rock!

In this episode, we take the mic to… Nevis (brapp! We’re in Nevis!) talking to the Founder of Island Girls Rock, Chantal Miller.

Island Girls Rock is a cultural movement and a creative entrepreneurial community for women from the Caribbean and its diaspora. The movement offers events, a podcast, and an accompanying blog that delves into the stories of prominent black women from the community.

Listen as Chantal and Christabel reflect on growing up Black in the UK, how the under-representation of African and Caribbean communities in the media made both women feel invisible, and the role Island Girls Rock played in exposing the devastating impact of the British Government’s immigration policies during the Windrush Scandal.
