In this episode, we take the mic to Trinidad and talk to ‘creative-preneur’ Dhano Mc Nicol, the mind behind the brand A BigBox of Crayons.
A BigBox of Crayons includes a podcast called We Are Crayons, and a mini-documentary series, called Shades of a Crayon; a mini-documentary series. He also blogs regularly about celebrating Caribbean positivity and the movement of creatives, thinkers, and makers in the region.
Christabel and Dhano reflect on the impact of being told to colo(u)r in the lines as a kid(sorry, not sorry!), the ways people in the Black diaspora have historically been told to stay in their lane - and why unleashing our creativity - in every way, from the library to the boardroom - is the best way to challenge that.
